I should have posted this way the first time-

I considered them all very positive experiences. We all communicated very well and knew what we all wanted. They were real relationships, with a lot of time and emotion invested in each other.

Now I’m in my mid 30s, partnered, and poly. I just had a 20 year old girl message me on a dating app that she’s interested in me. I instantly was uncomfortable with the age gap. Then I remembered my personal experiences and how I’m fond of the good memories, and it made me feel very conflicted. I’m on the other side and it’s weird. MY experiences were great. I’d never been in a situation like this where a much younger girl was interested and pursuing me, so I never really though about this before.

I hope this is better context than just stupidly asking,”Is it ok for a guy in his 30s to date a girl who’s 20”. I’m not pursuing her, nor am I a predator. I also don’t consider the older women I dated to be predators. They were amazing women and I wouldn’t trade those memories for anything.

I’m not asking for advice or anything, but am curious about your thoughts and experiences. Have you dated someone with a big age difference? How’d it work out? Do you feel that maybe there is a gender difference? Is it ok for a woman to date a much younger man, but not the other way around? Is that justified?
