A problem I'm having is that I'll rediscover mindfulness, and then in order to maintain it I'll create a routine of mindfulness, so that I don't forget it next time. But what happens is that the routine over a long period of time becomes so automatic, that it no longer becomes mindful because it's like my brain adjusts to it and no longer truly engages.
What is a practical approach towards this problem? I feel the routine is necessary, because it keeps me focused, but I'm not sure how to make it work for me without becoming stale.
