Folks who are running an AC greenhouse fan off of a solar panel. Did you find it necessary to incorporate a battery and solar controller? It seems like I would only need it to run when the sun is shining on it, and was thinking about just going solar panel > inverter > thermostat > fan.

Getting ready to build my first DIY greenhouse out of old windows on the Oregon Coast. I have glass panes that were meant for the roof, but someone told me if I don’t use polycarbonate panels, everything will cook inside. Is that the case?
