newby rugby conditioning

Sup fellas, I'm at 37 yr old male trying to get some conditioning going. I joined a d3 rugby club out here in Texas and my conditioning stinks. I've been a couch potato since I was 18 I work long hours and just want to get something going besides by 2 practices a week. Can any of you suggest small steps to work my way up to a full 80 min. Match? I would appreciate it. BTW I'm 6'1" 315lbs was 350 last year.
