3 Days Sugar Free
Post Body

I have been addicted to sugar all my life. When my mom was pregnant with me she had intense sugar cravings, despite savory cravings with my brothers. Every year when I get my annual exam, I’m shocked I don’t have diabetes. I wake in the am, have sugar. Snack on sugar throughout the day, finish each day with a decadent dessert. This has been my life all my life. The only thing I have successfully kicked was pop and I only drink soda water or coffee now. Everytime I diet, this has been my downfall. All of the alternative sugars out there just don’t cut it, I can always tell, it’s like the princess and the pea with me. I can only stand agave or honey outside of cane sugar.

When I tried going cold Turkey and told everyone to hold me accountable I made it 3 weeks (impressive) and had raging withdraws that made everyone around me miserable. I’ve had issues with friends and roommates because they’d bake something or buy something sweet and I would have zero impulse control and have to eat it. Since April my cravings have been so bad, I was waking up in the middle of the night and eating chocolate or ice cream and then go back to bed. Upon waking in the am, sugar was waiting. I have back problems that have gotten worse with time and I know the amount of inflammation I’m experiencing is abnormal and it’s likely because of my sugar intake.

Anyways, I think I’ve painted a sufficient picture here about my sugar addiction. I just wanted to share that I’m 3 days sugar free and I cannot believe it. And I’m not even experiencing withdraw. I did some research on supplements and I started taking 1 gram of L-Glutamine and also the Pendulum Metabolic Daily probiotic. I started it 3 days ago and the effects were immediate. I really can’t believe it. I never thought it was possible. I know it’s only been 3 days and the jury is still out, but 3 days without sugar is a very big deal for me.

Just wanted to share. 🙏🏼
