Low energy, and trying to isolate why:
Post Body

Hello, I tend to feel rather tired, and low-energy in general. I got a CPAP for sleep apnea, which has helped somewhat, but not a ton. I am obese, which I presume causes the apnea and adds to my tiredness.

But my sleeping worsened drastically after getting Covid while being depressed. I thought maybe I had long Covid, but I think I'd have more symptoms if that were true, and I also suspect I gained weight due to being super sedentary at this time. And I think the weight-gain may be what really exacerbated my tiredness.

I got on an antidepressant, Amitriptyline, along with Bupropion, which have helped me significantly with my depression and anxiety. I also am much less sedentary these days, as I'm very into gardening, and spend a few hours at least, every day, doing this. Though it's not necessarily a marathon, it's still far more activity for me. And I got a CPAP. But still I'm pretty tired.

Now I force myself to wake up earlier and drink coffee, but I still stay up too late somehow. It's like I procrastinate sleep. Idk why I do this, I feel like it's a mental health issue, but I don't understand how or why my mental health makes me want to avoid sleep.

I still aim for like 7-8 hours, but I'm tired anyway. And I'm tired after sleeping 10 hours. I thought maybe it was my Amitriptyline, but I've lowered it from 100 to 75mg, and have not noticed an improvement in my energy.

So I'm wondering what is the most significant thing I can do to improve my sleep and energy? Is a better sleep schedule all I need? Amitriptyline can cause drowsiness, so should I take it earlier? I take it right before I sleep. Anyway, any advice or ideas are appreciated, and apologies for this mess of a post lol.
