Falling asleep isn't an issue, never has been but this past year staying asleep? Can't do it. I'm 29F, and already do my best to keep an eye on my sleep ( less sleep = a possible manic episode on the horizon for me) but this week it's gotten awful. I wake up in the middle of the night, and I can't fall back asleep. I'm not having racing thoughts nor do I feel anxious. I don't have any stressors, besides money, occurring at the moment. The other night I couldn't fall asleep, to the point where I was awake till 6am the next morning...my sleep issues are causing my partner to wake up in the middle of the night (i toss and turn, or if i get up they can wake up scared since i'm not next to them) and has caused them to have to cancel plans because of their sleep being affected.
I'm not on any sleep medication, nor do I want to be on a sleep medication. I was taking an herbal supplement called "Better Nights" and they were gel capsules. They have become ineffective. I already plan on talking to my psych about this but does anyone have any recommendations on what might be helpful to staying asleep thru the night?
