Hi, my ex (28F) and I (28F) broke up almost 3 weeks ago. I'm starting to reassess what to look for in a relationship. Huge factors in our breakup were distance, her being closeted (although I didn't really pressure her to come out), and lack of intimacy (both emotionally and physically). Other than that, it was amazing. We were supportive of each other, we've grown together, we shared the same values and goals, we made future plans although we never really made a move towards them.
We opened up the relationship to meet these needs but I guess it was only a band-aid solution to our problems. She's a great friend if not a romantic partner.
There's a thin line between friends, lovers, and FWBs. What specific qualities do you look for in a long-term romantic relationship? What are your non-negotiables?
