How do I ask my partner to change the way he kisses without hurting his feelings?

I (26F) have been with my bf(25M) for almost three years and our sex life hasn’t been the best lately. I do love him but one that that turns me off is the way that he kisses. Usually he starts with an open mouth even when my mouth is closed for a peck. Then when were making out, when we both use our tongues he pushes half of his tongue in my mouth when they really only need to touch.

I have thought about the fact that im not the happiest with his method of kissing but I don’t know how to talk to him about it without hurting his feelings. And I feel crazy because I’ve already let it go on this long without saying anything.
