We’ve known each other for years, but I kept her at a safe distance -like all coworkers. She wants more. To know more. I have shared things over the years, but I never felt the “call her up to go have breakfast in her house in pjs while talking about guys”. She initiates that and I go along because I’m being nice.
Now, it’s messing with my work. She’s saying “I put her on a waiting for me to do the work” “I don’t answer my emails” and “I blew her off” (if she by chance reads this and realized it’s her- we need to break up).
I’m more of a do the work, leave for the day. Talk to no one. And I feel that is not enough. They might fire me over it.
And for starters, I didn’t blow her off. I said I can’t help at that time and sorry. She just said “oh”. So I’m thinking it’s not that important to respond with an answer or date to help yet but I do send an email saying I can help TOMORROW in the afternoon. Then I get the - you had me waiting and I didn’t know what to do. I wanted to say - work on something else and we can get to this tomorrow. But I held my tongue.
This is not the first time I’ve tried to help explain something. Maybe I’m a bad teacher. Idk but she says I’m great so idk who to believe.
And about that “break up” comment. I’m just confused. Idk what the problem is but I doubt it’s because I declined a meeting and suggested another time tomorrow.
We spoke. She got her information she needed and still has questions…but man. Don’t say I blew you off when I clearly said I couldn’t make it. Then later said tomorrow afternoon will be fine.
