Guy Ignored Me for 6 Months And Now Says He's Sorry?!
Post Body

TL;DR

Was seeing a guy then he ghosted me for six months. Came back and alologused and I don't know how to take it.

LONG:

I (21) had a fwb (23) in 2021. It was fun, e hung out a lot, chatted and even did face masks so it was genuinely fun.

I'd actually thought we were friends. Weirdly it seemed he didnt feel the same as he proceeded to ghost me a couple of months after, when he got into a relationship.

I sent him a message asking him to hang out for coffee and he complwtely ignored me.

He came back in my messages a few days ago saying "hey we're in the same society!" And I immediately called him out and said he was an idiot for ignoring me.

He did immediately apologise and say that he'd felt guilty seeing me when he got in a relationship with someone he'd had a crush on for 4 years - because he knew his gf would have been really uncomfortable with it, and that he should have had the guts to say it.

That he thinks I'm a cool person and what he did was wrong and he understands why I'm upset.

He said he would like to hang out and try to make ammends but he completley understands if I'd say no.

I'm torn. I like him as a friend but he did really hurt and devalue me and I don't know how i feel about this.

I'd like to be friends with him and i'm torn between two options.

  1. Completely cutting him off and saying what he did was too much and moving on with my life.

Or

  1. Forgiving him and saying I just need time. But also getting back into a platnic friendship which is what he's asking for.

I don't know which
