I can add a lot of details if needed but will try to keep this as short as possible.
I had been working with this girl that I ended up really starting to like. And I'm like 99% sure she liked me as well. We really connected for a lot of reasons. The only problem was that she had a longtime boyfriend. Again, to keep the story short, she broke up with that longtime boyfriend early last year and things started really escalating between us. We were planning things out together, etc. Things were really headed for the next level. Then... covid hit.
I chose to live further away with my family during the pandemic and we kind of lost that special connection. Things were just not the same virtually -- we would still talk some and text some, but that spark was just not there like it was in person. I have also since left the job we both worked at -- which is good and bad. The bad is we don't quite share that connection anymore, but the good is that the awkward part of dating a co-worker is no longer there - and I may be willing to take more risks now.
I was going to just let it go, as I have never been one to really get hung up on a girl. But idk - this one just feels different. We still text but pretty infrequently. She has recently gotten back with the boyfriend (who is nothing special tbh).
So I guess the advice I am looking for is -- what should I do? 1) Should I just move on like I was going to? or 2) Should I follow my gut go after it? If so, what is the best way to go about rekindling things?
Happy to add any other details and appreciate the advice!
