I’m struggling with self worth and confidence in general and it doesn’t help that my partner makes twice what I make. How I can I get over this insecurity?
Post Body

I’m 26F still in an entry level customer service job. My boyfriend is a recruiter and he’s been applying to new jobs and told me today that one job he declined because they offered $90k which he said was not enough. I am here, making 45k. He doesn’t know but he knows I don’t make much.

He’s never once said anything to make me feel badly about my salary. I am very career oriented and I have low self esteem because I can’t seem to get ahead in my career.

Whenever I’m around him and his friends (couples game night) I feel really badly about myself because all they can talk about is what jobs they’re trying to switch to and what companies and how good the salaries are.

I am happy for him, I am. But I’m just struggling because I don’t see a way out of my job and I never thought I’d end up in this job to be honest. I was always excelling in school through college and now I have a job that someone with a high school diploma could get.
