Is my manager trying to force me to quit, should I just not show?
Post Body

Ok so I (21F) work part time at a childrenā€™s chain clothing store. Iā€™ve been working there a little over two years but the last 6-8 months or so theyā€™ve been scheduling me once or twice a month (and not at all this past december, and left me out of the gift exchange). I know that they want me to quit, but Iā€™m still collecting unemployment from when I was unemployed before (which would stop if I quit) plus I put the job on college and scholarship apps. So, in lots of ways, the job is helping me pay my way through school and for any other life expenses. So I figured thereā€™s no harm in staying since it benefits me and isnā€™t hurting anyone. But this weekend is my 21st birthday and she scheduled me that day with every other sales associate that works at the store (when usually only 2 people are scheduled to close), so there is no one to ask to cover my shift. I feel like sheā€™s trying to force me to quit and i donā€™t know what to do. Normally Iā€™d just get it covered but there is no one to ask? Iā€™m torn between just not showing up (but am scared she wonā€™t actually fire me since they have a three strike policy), calling in ā€œsickā€ (scared sheā€™ll say thatā€™s not an option?), or quitting and saying itā€™s because of covid? I have no social skills and am clueless about things so sorry if this all seems dumb. I just genuinely need advice.
