I [M/32] am looking for books, courses, or resources to develop my emotional intelligence, empathy, communication, and listening skills so I can be a better partner to my [32F] girlfriend
Post Body

Like the title says. This isn't a specific scenario I need help with, but more just some broad personal development I need help with in order to be a better partner to my girlfriend.

We've had some arguments where it's been clear I wasn't listening, empathizing, or responding to her needs as well as I could have -- or just in the wrong way altogether (suggesting logical solutions vs. just listening and empathizing with her emotions).

I'm trying to find some good, free online course to help me develop this skill, books to read -- or any other resource that might help me in this way.

I am taking step to go to therapy and talk about some of these things with a professional. This would be supplementary material to help me on my journey -- or at least get me started while I wait to get connected with a therapist that is right for me.

I greatly appreciate any advice or suggestions you have to offer!
