That were enough f‘s in the title. I‘ll just get right into it.

TL;DR: best friend is very much into male Korean idols and developed a crush on my half Korean friend. I am scared she only likes him for his ethnicity.

My best friend has been a huge k-pop fan for the past ~2 years. She likes one specific boy group and once had a dream of being impregnated by her favourite member (I think it’s called a bias?). That was over a year ago. Since then, she spends multiple hours daily (she‘s unemployed) writing fanfictions about said dream.

She already finished the first book, which has over 600 pages. I don’t want to get too deep into the plot, but it basically involves her favourite k-pop idol getting her pregnant, abandoning his career and moving in with her across the globe. His best friend (also an idol) joins him because he’s madly in love with her too, and she’s openly two-timing them and they’re both completely fine with it. The whole k-pop group joins them and every member loves her while the Korean ex is seething and trying to kill her and the child. Part 2 is currently in the making.

Now, she met my friend (M23), who is half Korean. She likes him a lot, and he’s her first crush who actually likes her back. They’re having their first date next week and I‘m scared she only likes him for his ethnicity.

My boyfriend says it won’t work out because she’s too immature and not the „conventionally attractive“ type of girl but I think it will.

They’re going to a Sushi restaurant and she asked me to go with her first so she can practice (?) and I said yes because she’s my friend.

They’re totally obsessed with each other and I’m scared she only likes him for him because he’s part Korean. What is your perspective on this?
