we met and started dating over a year ago when he had a secure retail job, which is relevant to our relationship since long distance is expensive

it’s now almost been a year since he quit and hasn’t been able to find a job since, he doesn’t have a high school diploma due to some harsh stuff he went through in his late teens. as of right now he’s enrolled in a single credit class and about to finish, and im really happy he’s getting on track but its making me really worried for the future of our relationship.

I’ve started to feel detached and while i still love him i don’t wanna visit if it’s on my money alone, i also don’t want him to take out any savings when the job market is as shit as it is right now

I know couples can get through harder times than these but how can i bring this up to him, i don’t want him to know the reason i cry at night is because i fear for our relationship, which started under different circumstances.
