My fiancé he’s in South Korea and we ran into some visa problems of getting him back to the U.S. . We have been together for two years and we met when he was here in the U.S. . Sadly, due to the K1 visa we applied for it doesn’t seem to work for him to come back. We hit a roadblock and I don’t know if we’re going to get approved or denied. We still have the marriage visa we might apply have to apply for but that’s 1-2 years. With all of this going on I’m thinking about moving to South Korea if nothing works here. But now I’m getting the guilt trip from my mom that she doesn’t want me to move which I understand. She also mentioned that I’ll be away from my family and rarely see them like if so just once a year, she said I’ll probably only see her a few more times before she dies, she said she’ll never see her grandkids, she pointed out the language barrier, my in laws being with people (which I can’t argue they are) and the culture being so different from my own. I have been to South Korea 3 times and I might be going back in December so that’s stuff I’m aware of in terms of the culture and language being much different from my own.

But my question is for those who moved to another country did you ever regret that decision? Do you regret being away from your family? I really don’t know what to do here I’m just suffering so deeply with all of this. My heart is broken with the visa issues we’re having. If anything I would even settle doing a marriage visa for the U.S. and work visa for South Korea so we can at least be together. I just want us to be together and I don’t know if I’ll make the biggest regret of my life if I move there like everyone told me I will.
