I've posted before but this latest event really disturbed me.

Me and my boyfriend are long distance of almost 3 years. I've been able to tell when he's lying and when he isn't. He's never quiet and always had something to say, UNLESS he is lying or drunk. In which case, he's pretty much silent.

There is a certain friend's house he goes to and gets drunk and drives home, even if he is working the next day. Since he knows he does stupid stuff over there, he said he would always let me know before and after he stopped over. Well...I'd say maybe 1 in every 10 stops, he lets me know. I just stopped caring if I received a text or not.

Last night, I tried calling him a couple times before I went to bed. I then texted: "let me guess, you stopped at your friend's again and didn't tell me." Just then, he called. Most of the time when we talk, he's in his truck driving, so I know what that sounds like. He was pretending to yawn and said "I just woke up from a nap." I said, "oh, you're home?" He said "yeah, I was asleep on the couch but now I need to get to my room to go to sleep." I could hear the usual truck noises so I said, "hmmm...why don't you send me a snap of your house to prove you're home because it sounds like you're driving." Just then, he muted the phone for like 3 seconds, then unmuted it. He didn't have a whole lot to say as I kept questioning him. Normally, if I accuse him of something he DIDN'T do, he will YELL & SHOUT like a little kid and this is how I know I'm getting the truth. Last night though...he was like "wellllll, I am home. On my couch. Just sitting here."

THEN I HEARD THE DING THAT HIS TRUCK MAKES WHEN YOU PUT THE KEY IN THE IGNITION!! I'm like "DUDE! I just heard that!" His response was LAUGHTER! He proceeded by saying "I took a nap, woke up, and drove into town to get a drink. I'm at the gas station now." I said, "well 3 minutes ago you were just waking up from the couch and needed to go so you could go back to bed. Sooo....why lie about driving into town for a drink? Have I ever cared that you did that?" Again, he was silent.

I said, "I think you were at your friend's because it does sound like you've been drinking." He kept responding with childish answers, like "noooooo, I was nottttttt over theeeeereeeee." I continued with "Okay, then were you at another girls?" He kind of chuckled and said "nooooooo, I was taking a napppppp."

I am really really really considering being done. Not only is it very hurtful that nearly 3 years in, he's lying like this, but it also makes me question WHAT ELSE he's been lying about. There was another time a few months ago where he did the whole, dramatic fake yawn, said he just woke up, but I could hear road noises, and just like this time, THE PHONE WENT MUTE! However, last time when it went mute, he just ended the call and claimed that his phone died and would not turn back on (looking back now, I'm assuming this was to buy him more time to actually get home so I wouldn't hear the road noises). But the following day, he was SUPER nice to me and over the top. He kept calling me while he was at work and he never does that.

Also wanted to add…lately he’s had 3 people complain about him at work because he’s been apparently sneaking off and getting on his phone. He doesn’t text me at work and if I text him, I don’t expect a response. He claims they complained because he’s a harder worker than everyone so they’re trying to make him look bad🤔🤔
