I'm working on this because found out that I was only taking and taking, draining people's energy and will to be with me. Working on this with my therapist. I am fairly alone and struggle a lot to make social interactions/friends/dating. I'm basically alone... I am just talking to someone but it isnt going anywhere right now.
However:
What are qualities you can give in a relationship and what can you give?
I made a list, I wonder what other's people thoughts are on this questions. I feel like this is not enough... i feel like this is not specifically what to give in a relationship or is it? what about the shared circle of between your partner and you? im not sure how to approach this.
here is my list so far:
- fun moments: people often describe me as funny, i like to make her laugh
- time/activities we share (I'm more someone of spending time together even if its in silence or doing different things)
- shared culture -> understanding
- loyalty. im a hopeless romantic the old fashioned way....
- honesty. cant stand lies, and due to past trauma get triggered if someone lies.
- strong ethics for respect
- goal oriented to make her happy
- likes to live in freedom and give freedom (time off each other, etc.)
- offer support, emotionally and objectively, etc.
- patience: to work things out, to forgive, to give space, etc.
- works on himself, takes her feedback serious
- provide if she needs anything
- want to make her happy (which is actually my goal and 1st priority in a relationship)
