The shy guy(20M) in my (19F) program is so cute. How can I figure out a way to talk to him?
Post Body

I (19 F) have found the shy guy(20 M) in college program super cute since the first day I met him. At first I thought he was just a really attractive guy and I’d get over it but now we’re in our final year and I can’t get him out of my head. Even though we’ve spent hundreds of hours across our different classes together in the same room, I barely know anything about his personal life because he rarely speaks up and the other guys always speak over him.

I’m also a very loud person in our class who finds it difficult to reel in jokes or talking and I’m worried that my admittedly intense personality might be scaring him away. While I can present loud and confident, I’m honestly a pretty anxious person, who doesn’t do well with judgment or rejection.

I’ve tried inviting him out to group events like when we go to bars or club, as to be casual and not to pushy about how much I want to hang out with him. However because he’s shy and doesn’t enjoy drinking, he always skips out on those events.

I ask him to help me with assignments sometimes because I know he’s smart. (Honestly most of the time I don’t need the help, I just like an excuse to talk to him.) However I finally said fuck it and texted him more personally, saying that I think he’s a really sweet guy and it would make me happy if he hung out with the group, aside from school.

He seems totally aloof to the fact that I’m trying to flirt with him, not in a douche way, more in a way like he’s not expecting attention. I’m not sure how to advance our conversation and create a space where he feels comfortable opening up a bit more.
