I'm (F29) struggling with emotional fallout after my Lover (F27) ended Intimate relationship due to compatibility issues but she wants to remain friends. Should we remain friends or not?
Post Body

Hi everyone,

I’m (f29) reaching out for some support and advice. Recently, a lover (f27) and I have realized that we’re not compatible in terms of intimacy. She has decided that she doesn’t want to continue our intimate relationship, which, (although I had sensed a while ago might be the case), has left me feeling quite sad.

We both agree that our needs and expectations don’t align, and while she hopes we can remain friends, I’m unsure if that’s something I can manage emotionally at this time (still hasn't decided/ hesitant). The situation has been challenging, and I’m struggling with the mix of feelings that come with this realization.

I would really appreciate any advice or support from those who have faced similar situations. How have you dealt with the emotional fallout from such a change, and what strategies have helped you navigate continuing a friendship after an intimate relationship ends?

Thank you for your support and understanding.

TL;DR: I'm feeling sad after realizing my lover and I aren't compatible sexually, and she's decided to end our intimate relationship. We're considering staying friends, but I'm unsure if I can handle that emotionally right now. I’d appreciate advice on dealing with the emotional fallout and how to navigate staying friends after a breakup.
