Just what the title says. My GF told me about a month ago she needed space, then 2 weeks ago that we're basically putting the brakes on until she can get out of her current living situation. I don't want to go into too much detail, but given the circumstances she's under, I fully understand her decision, and am deep enough in love that I will wait as long as it takes.
What I need help with is how do people cope when the one person they need most isn't available? I have friends who are there off and on, but not a single one of them can help fill that void. I would think time makes it easier, but every day I just hurt more and more. I know it's not a case of her cheating, or exploring other options, because it's not just me she's isolated from, it's everyone. I just started a new job close to the same time as all this going on, and I'm so exhausted after my work day, that my mask is completely broken. Do I just have to get used to this pain being my new reality?
Btw to anyone who says, "Just move on", I'm not at all interested in that. I've hit the point in my life, and been through enough relationships that I'm done looking. This may sound pathetic, but I am willing to be alone if it isn't her.
