Been dating for 3 years, but I feel like I’m settling; F29 and M29
Post Body

I (F29) am in a relationship with a man my same age and we have been dating for over 3 years. He is a good man and I love him, but I feel like we lack similar interests and often feel neglected attention wise so I get sad and just find things to go do by myself. Now I will admit I definitely need to find more friends to occupy my time as recently I my friend group has fallen apart, and maybe not having anyone else to hang out with is making me too needy attention wise, whereas my boyfriend plays games online with friends multiple times a week so his social interaction needs are pretty much met by that. My mom says he is a good man and that is what is important and that it is probably unrealistic to find a partner who is my best friend; she thinks most couples aren’t perfect no matter how they appear to the world. Is it a fairy tail to expect to find a man that would sweep my off my feet, check all the boxes, and be my best friend? Or do most people settle?

I have a feeling people will ask, but no we are not engaged, but I also told him not to propose until he got out his debt he was in, which he is currently working on.
