This girl (27F) that I (33M) work with has been sending me quite a few indicators of interest since March (staring heavily while biting her lip, many glances, getting way into my personal space and touching my keyboard, mimicking sounds I make, etc). Outside of those, many other things raise eyebrows.
Something I cannot understand however is how when she calls me to discuss a project, there can be up to 60-120 seconds of pure silence on the phone (we work remotely the vast majority of the year while flying to the office once every couple of months), sometimes even longer. This has happened numerous times now, and like I said: this is one of the many things that raise eyebrows.
I don’t want to get emotionally involved with this girl or to overstep in the workplace, so I just don’t say anything and let her eventually tell me what she wants to tell me, show me on Zoom, etc.
But what’s going on with this incredibly awkward silence?
TL;DR: Girl that is sending me signals calls me to go over a project and is silent for many minutes.
