Is there any phrase that I can use to get the significant other to stop talking.
Case in point we were out walking the dog and he didn't like the way I do it and pointing out things I should do instead to " be courteous" ...
Yesterday , We had gotten off the car and my dog wanted to interact with another dog who was with his owners on a park bench. The BF argued that I should have respected where they were and not lead the dog to go bother them.
Is there anything I can say to get them to shut up nicely. I did not want to argue with him in public. I tried phrases like " point taken" but that didn't seem to work. " Agree to disagree"gets them more worked up in trying to convince me.
They keep on trying to convince me to take his point of view on dog walking and being courtesy to people. But I like doing it my way where I allow the dog to guide me where to go.
He brought up the issue again today and I told him that I heard his point and that I would think it. Apparently that wasn't enough for him and he kept on pushing. With his final statement being " I'm sorry for gaslighing you to be a better person? Lolol.
TLDR - how do I get them to shut up. Any ideas ?
