Am (f26) I self-sabotaging with a potential great (f26) person?
Post Body

Context on for me: So Iā€™m most definitely a hopeless romantic. I love to be loved and to love. If we click, Iā€™ll give you the world and more. Blah blah blah. All of that kind of stuff.

So that is to say, Iā€™m putting in effort to try and find ā€œmy personā€.

Cue to about two weeks ago. I start talking to a girl from a dating app. We click and the conversation moves to phone number. Weā€™re texting throughout the day and much of it involves flirting and whatnot.

Iā€™m okay with that seeing as we planned a date for asap a few days later so we could meet and all that jazz. Within a day, the flirting gets REALLY intense. Im not taking nudes or whatever. This girl tells me how weā€™re meant to be via the will of gods because Iā€™m just so perfect for her. Tells me ā€œmeetingā€ me has improved their life prospects immensely and mentions of our relationship years down the road. While itā€™s all really flattering, itā€™s A LOT. Especially happening within 2-3 days. how can I meet those sort of expectations for someone I havenā€™t even met in person?

And then also, she keeps trying to push up our date. Wanting to see me asap even though we had set plans. So, that also made me uncomfortable.

The point of all of this is to say: am I right to be uncomfortable and cancel my date with this person? Or am I missing out on something potentially amassing?
