My (m48) mother (f80) is clearly a borderline. Just started figuring this out in my 40's. One weird thing is, no one around me as a child, or adult for that matter, ever acknowledged her insane behavior.
The really weird thing is that everyone had this "poor (moms name)" attitude and they never acknowledged that the same life events happened to me. (My father died suddenly (1983) when I was 8, my brother died in a car wreck 4 months later, my sister got married and moved out just before my father passed.. she died with CJD at 44 in 2007 after a 5 year battle). I, as a child, had basically lost my entire family in the span of 6 months and was alone. I commented elsewhere about how she moved us around 11 times in 9 years after my father passed.
My question is, I have always felt like my mother talked shit about me behind my back. My family (my entire extended family has lived 700 miles away since 1978) has always acted weird around me, for lack of better terms. Never attempting to be close or do anything with me, always somewhat dismissive.
Has anyone else ever feel like their bpd mother has ran her mouth about them behind their back? I'm fairly convinced, yet even my family that lives nearby (two nieces, nephew, two ex brother in laws, my son) have never said a word. She can't have 5 minute conversation without saying something negative about someone that isn't there. If she says things about me that are completely out of character, why wouldn't even my closer family say anything to me? It's weird.
This is my first post Something smells of ammonia Did I change the litter?
