Hi! I'm 46, bi, and was solo poly until a few weeks ago. Then I met this AMAZING woman, S, who was in a triad with a couple and had been for about 8 months. They did a lot of work to get to a healthy space, and are really committed to building something amazing.
So S and I really hit it off. She is amazing, we connect on so many levels. Honestly we went from 0 to a relationship to something special in like 2 weeks. I've never moved so fast, neither has she. She feels like nothing I've ever experienced. Our relationship is so safe and full of love. I truly didn't know it could feel like this.
Obviously this caused some waves in her existing relationship. She's been working hard to help them understand, to make sure they know how important the triad is, and to comfort both her people as they work through fear of loss and change.
Today S and I had lunch. We talked, and cried, and were intimate, and connected so very well. We're working through big feelings of love, but also not wanting to hurt her existing partners and making sure everyone is seen and heard and felt. It feels like we can be such a force for love and connection in this world. I'm so proud of her and all the work she's doing to help her people be seen and loved.
I'm just so happy. I'm happy to be involved with an amazing woman who works SO hard to build and maintain relationships. We're talking about all of us meeting soon, which makes my heart want to explode. And S and I are making plans for the future around vacation time, weekends away, that kind of thing.
I never thought I could love being in a true poly relationship. Solo poly was always my way to keep myself safe from being hurt by partners, safe from being exposed to heartbreak. Now I'm so happy to be partnered with someone amazing. I want to build a big, integrated life. And I just wanted to tell you all how much I appreciate this sub for giving me a space to do so.
Thanks!
