Best practice for r4r posts in the apropriate subs?

Is it best practice when posting in R4R subs to use an alt? I'm no stranger to using alts for different purposes and I've read several posts and comments that indicate post history has a lot to do with getting responses.

I can see it both ways. If I use a fresh alt it is all about r4r with no history other than r4r posts. A lot of peoplee will just move on when they see no history. On the other hand If I use this account with its history there will soon be a bunch of r4r posts in its history.

Should I be deleting r4r posts after a few days or weeks in order to maintain a clean history?

Does having a bunch of r4r posts in an account history send up red flags? I'm thinking it almost has to be a daily or every other day thing in order to get a response. A single post every week will quickly move down the list and potential dates will never see it.
