hi y'all; i need some advice in terms of poly dating.

i met the person i'm seeing now (we'll call them jake) about a month ago and the chemistry is pretty amazing. after our second date, jake had me over to meet their partner, rochelle. i thought we clicked pretty well (and tbh i thought she was super attractive, but i digress lmao). jake and i have had sex numerous times already and she knows this. however, our last date together at jakes, rochelle seemed very "blunt" if that makes sense; not very receptive to conversation, kinda short with me during dinner (we all had a bbq). afterwards we hung out to watch tv on the couch and i wanted to cuddle jake and get some smooches in, but it felt so awkward, like i was under the supervision of a parent or something.

also, for clarification, rochelle's dates haven't gone well for her unfortunately, which could possibly be a factor? like maybe there is some underlying jealousy on her side, i'm not sure.

now, apparently, jake and rochelle are having issues and almost broke up. as a result our next date is cancelled while they work through their issues, and i'm left wondering if this is a red flag? i have no desire to mess up their relationship; i really enjoy what we have and i'd be bummed if it had to end, but i don't want to be in the middle of something potentially messy.

tl;dr

met a lovely person who has a long term primary partner of many years; they have both started to date separately fairly recently. i've dipped my feet into enm/poly a bit before them, but i still consider this relatively new in my life as well. things were going good, but now they are having issues and apparently almost broke up, so our date is cancelled for this week. i'm not sure if i should keep pressing on or let them have space.
