In 2020 me, my two partners and their now ex wife at the time were going to attend a convention together. Due to covid the event got moved to 2021. My partner and the now ex wife got divorced and they ended up with the tickets. Me and my partners were then planning on going together.

Recently my partner began to date someone new. I am not ready or interested in meeting them at this time due to a whole bunch of other reasons. my partner is aware of this. My partner then proceeded to give their ticket to their new girlfriend and invited her to attend with them.

I am hurt and angry. I have told them this. I am not able to attend the convention with them anymore as I no longer feel comfortable doing so, since that would require me to meet her which I am not comfortable with at this time. I am concidering not attending at all given I was somewhat going because of them and I feel sour about the event now.

I have never gone and have been looking forward to going with them for two years since they have always been so passionate about con -- and yet they knowingly invited someone I do not want to meet along with us. I feel incredibly hurt and see this as very inconsiderate behavior. They didn't even think to have a conversation with me before inviting her along!

I honestly feel really betrayed, hurt, unimportant, and tossed aside. I don't know what to suggest, how to move past this or what to do. They have apologized but without some sort of action to back it up it feels empty to me.

Is my reaction here reasonable? I've honestly concidered ending the relationship over this. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do? Compromise? Restitution?
