Here is a condensed version. I've been with my partner for 4 years, we have two kids together, and life is hectic/ stressful but I wouldnt change it for anything. I've always been drawn to the poly lifestyle but kept it to myself until recently. My wife took it hard at first but eventually accepted it as part of me and was willing to work on being open to it.

Even more recent my life has been a whirlwind of craziness. First off we have a baby that's been giving us a hard time. Then I had to go for surgery and was off work for a month. When I finally went back to work, I was on light duty but I still busted my stitches open and had to go back off work for another month. In that second month, my mothers long time partner was killed in an accident. She spent the Christmas holidays with us while she got everything attended too and we did the service. (she lives 12 hours away) Just after Christmas, I got clean bill of health and was ready to get back to my job, just in time to get a layoff slip.

My mothers job is a really good one, she is a district administer for a large service company. However, it was just a term position and she may get a layoff in a few months. So to help her put and myself, I said we should take the insurance money and open up a restaurant. My mother is a business woman and I'm a business student, plus we both love cooking, so it makes sense.

So now for the past month I've been vehemently working on setting up a restaurant, creating a menu, doing ingredient lists, finding suppliers, finding locations, and all the foot work that is required of starting a business.

Since, we were blind sided by this layoff, we struggled to pay all our rent and were a few hundred short. So naturally we just got an eviction notice the same day that we got some money. I was able to stave off the wolves for a bit but we still need to be out by the end of the month. So now we are in the midst of packing, we are moving to where my mother lives to start a business and life is a crazy whirlwind.

Now you're probably wondering what all of this has to do with poly. I'm a very discreet person. I like the idea of being poly and I was hoping that at some point this year, me and my partner could take our first foray into the poly lifestyle. Now, however, we are going to be starting a business with my mom; while living with her. I must say that I'm thoroughly becoming depressed at the prospects.

The worst part is, where she lives is very touristy in the spring-fall months so all rental properties become vacation rentals and you cant find any place to rent. I'm hoping we can find a place but I was told not to hold my breath.
