So, I (30F) have been seeing this woman, let's call her Beth (33F), for about 3 months. She’s in an open marriage and also has a boyfriend, which is… complicated. But we’ve been spending time together weekly—going on these intense, romantic dates, and having incredible, passionate, soul shifting, sex and physical intimacy (staring into each others' eyes, saying we love each others' scents etc). There’s undeniable chemistry, and I’m definitely falling for her.
Here’s the thing: I wear my heart on my sleeve. I recently made her a super romantic playlist (like, Cure-level dramatic) and sent it with a jokey, “This might be the gayest thing I’ve ever done.” I’ve also written her a love poem in the past. She responded to the playlist with a sweet “Just in time for my drive 🥲,” but it’s been over a day, and she hasn’t said anything else about it or followed up to make plans for this week, even though she said she’d be free.
Now I’m spiraling. Was the playlist too much? Did I come on too strong? Am I scaring her off, or is she just avoidant (she has trouble expressing her emotions)? [She is also a self-proclaimed AVOIDANT and told me she's getting help for it]. I know I’m intense, but I really like her and want this to work. How cringey is my playlist/poem move, and is there any way to recover from this if it was too much?
NOTE: While her and her husband no longer have sex and are nothing more than friends/roommates, she told me her and her boyfriend have great sex; she told me, ver batim, that she doesn't want to lose that because she's never had that with a man she's dated before. BUT, she is overtly queer. I can tell from her mannerisms and how she is with me in the bedroom. Her boyfriend is also jealous of me, and feels threatened that she's 'falling for me'.
TL;DR: I’m falling for the girl I’ve been seeing for the past 3 months, wrote her a love poem and sent a romantic playlist. She liked it but hasn’t followed up since. Did I scare her off? How bad is this?
