A good friend of mine, we'll call her emily, has been in relationship with her girlfriend for a couple of years now. Maybe two or three I think. And she has expressed some frustration with that dynamic to the point of telling me point blank that she wishes she could be in a poly relationship but her partner is not interested in that and she wants to respect that. This is all well and good, but it's something that comes up sort of repeatedly. I want to be supportive, and to that extent, I want to help advise her on how to pursue what's going to really make her happy and fulfilled in her life. It seems like the relationship isn't bad but she doesn't feel fulfilled.

The meter complicating Factor here is that I kind of have feelings for her. Nothing that I can't you know put to the side and still just be a good friend for her for but when it comes to advising her on relationship stuff, and supporting her finding what's going to make her happy, I feel like there's a conflict of interest. I guess I'm just wondering, both what would make sense for her to do and also to what extent I'm able to be helpful in that regard.
