I've seen the advice hundreds of times on these forms. We don't make rules we make boundaries, "if you do x then I will do y" and often it's "I won't be in a relationship with someone who does x"
So what happens during the breakup if they don't wanna break up so they say they won't do X? They want to do X, they either said explicit they would be doing X and now you're breaking up because of it. They clearly want to do X. They just want to be with you more than they want to do X.
Do you cancel the break up?
