So here's a weird one! I've been no contact with my ex for over 10 years because I was annoyed by his post-breakup behavior (wouldn't give me a week cooling off period without asking for advice about his other relationships) and overall embarrassed bc he broke up with me for good cause (I had bad mental health due to grad school and was not seeking help). Well, we met up again with both our NPs for the first time a few weeks ago and have all hung out like 4 times since. His new partner LOVES me and actually told me that I was welcome to start dating [ex] without prompting. My partner said the same. And ex is unrecognizably emotionally developed and just all around a hotter, more mature, more attractive and viable version of the person I fell in love with back in the day. Aaaaand I think maybe he likes me back! I'm going to wait until he's out of NRE with his current partner because they're still settling the situation down in their polycule and working on arrangements and balances and stuff and I don't want to throw another variable into the mix, and then I'm going to ask him on a date!
