I hadn’t spent any time with my girlfriend, Birch for about 3 months as she was away on a work placement. So on Tuesday we had an overnight arranged. It was going great and we were enjoying reconnecting but within about two hours she got a call from her NP saying that they’d locked themselves out of their flat and needed Birch to go back with her keys. They live a couple of hours away from me so it wasn’t possible to go home and come back,

I was heartbroken but fine, these things happen and it’s not my girlfriend’s fault so there’s no problem there and I get that being the secondary partner sometimes you’re not the top priority. But when Birch got home she said she had a big fight with her NP and there’s been a few things that have hinted at the whole situation not being totally accidental. I’m now terrified that this is the start of meta issues and I’m really not sure how to handle it. On one hand I really love my girlfriend and want to be with her but on the other I really hate drama and it feels like having a partners NP actively working against you is a whole boat load of drama
