Is it really DADT?

I have started casually seeing someone who told me they are in a don’t ask don’t tell marriage. A few dates in and I’m not certain they are telling the truth (I’m also not certain they are lying).
While I want to honour the fact that people do relationships differently, I definitely don’t want to be someone’s secret love affair.
I’m reluctant to demand they tell their partner about me, but the suspicion this isn’t above board is also uncomfortable. Any advice how to proceed?
