How do you handle your partner meeting family?

Post Body

I have been dating my boyfriend for a few months. We have an amazing relationship and I adore him. I love him so much I even gave him a key to my place. My boyfriend has a wife and other long distance partner (3?). But for the most part, he is with me and his wife. His wife also has him, a boyfriend, and another husband.

I am incredibly close to my family. The kind of big family who expects to see you every holiday, repeats the same embarrassing stories to whoever you date, and includes you in the family group chat. The matriarch of the family is my grandmother. She is basically like a second mom to me since she was there a lot in my life.

The only three people who know about my partner being poly is my mom, brother, and sister. My siblings have been supportive. My mom is not thrilled since this isn't the first time I have attempted poly. The rest of the family does not know. I prefer not to mention it to my grandma because she is very traditional and I know she won't understand the concept. She thinks he lives with married roommates (which is technically true. It's just one also doubles as his wife).

I have been trying to stall him meeting them because I do want to take things slow. But my family sees this as me being embarrassed of them. It's not the case (sort of). It's because I have introduced my family to guys before and it causes me more anxiety because I do consider it a big step. But now, I might have to introduce them soon since my grandma wants help around her house and he does gigs like handyman work. She actually wanted me to ask him if he was available.

I don't think my grandma would interrogate him or anything. But should I tell him that she doesn't know? How do people go about introducing their partners to family?
