Ive been at this routine for 3 weeks, I want to lower my body fat percentage for health and fitness reasons which are obvious. I haven't seen a lot of change in my fat but I have been noticing muscle growth.
I go by my own experience and the improvement in performance compared to less time at the gym due to longer rest is not ideal for me.
I'm able to lift heavy weights and still have short rests so it works and that's what matters.
Whose resting that long between sets. I try to rest at max 1 min between dif exercises.
I mean I'm able to complete my exercises with consistence performance, so yeah I'm satisfied not taking longer rest times.
I squat 150 kg 5 x 5, I don't rest that long. Other times I squat 60 kg for 40 reps, either way I keep it around 30 seconds between sets.
Don't need to rest that long when your body is used to it

I have never thought this was a a big deal. After exercising for a while, I would read articles or watch videos to find better ways to improve my performance. I saw quite a few who said 30 seconds to 1 min is the right amount of rest time between sets.
'Do you continue to lift with burning muscles and pump?' Do you not? Why would you wait till the pump is gone? And I get more issues with cardio fatigue when it's higher reps and lower weight. 5 x 5 of any exercise (except deadlift) with almost max strength doesn't really result in cardio fatigue, I don't see how it would, it's less taxing cardio wise.
Here's an article that states for muscle growth, 30 - 90 seconds ideal.
