This is probably a stupid question but I see it get asked all the time and everyone seems to have a different opinion.
I’m currently looking to shed 25lbs or so and have no real time frame to aim for however, what I find works for me best is to be in a slight calorie deficit (~300-500 a day) of my BMR which is around 2600 calories (I’m 5’10 and 200lbs).
I’ve got a FitBit and have it linked to MyFitnessPal which I use to track my food. I know there’s always going to be discrepancies with perceived calories burnt on these devices but after a 10 hour shift on a construction site and a gym session, it says I still have 2500 calories to eat in order to reach my daily goal even though I ate 2000 calories over the course of the day.
Surely this isn’t right as it would be virtually impossible for me to take on 4500 calories a day. Just wondering for those who track, how they manage their food etc
