I started the 5x5 program from scratch, with an empty bar. I've tried the program once or twice but never hit 1x squatting my body weight, nevermind 1.5x. This go round, I wanted to build my routine, technique, and auxiliary muscles. Part of the reason I quit before was from lower back pain so hoping to do it right this time.
Maybe my OCD is getting the best of me, but the deadlift progress being behind squats and rows is confusing. I'm 5 weeks in and it just seems weird to deadlift and then add more weight to do rows. Is it ok to have deadlift keep up with squats by adding 10 lbs a session? At least until I get towards the first failure point?
what procentage of youre max are you lifting with 5x5?
