I (F,32) have been doing keto on and off since July, but strict for the past 6 weeks. I also strength train 3 times per week and lift pretty heavy. (I love it, it’s so fun!) I bought a scale to track my BF% and I figure even if it’s not super accurate, at least it’s consistent. I have a long way to go, as I’m starting at about 39% BF, with an initial goal of 29%. I check it once per week and have slowly but consistently been losing BF. I’m losing approx 1-2 lbs overall per week, and have been losing inches off my waist as well.
My question is, is it normal for my body comp to fluctuate as I’m losing weight?
I noticed a few weeks ago that I was looking more muscular and noticing my muscle tone more when I looked in the mirror and stuff. Then this week I feel like I look more doughy and puffy. Is this normal to have fluctuations like this as muscles and fat change? Could it be be hormonal/menstruation-related since I’m female? Maybe related to hydration? (I try to get my recommended electrolytes everyday.)
Thanks in advance!
