I started Keto on Monday and just dove right into the meaty abyss (under the assumption I could eat as much as I wanted to). It was an epic affair of 10 slices of bacon, 1 lb of ground beef etc. After a bit more reading I think I'm getting the hang of things. Below is my food consumption for Day 2. Suggestions for improvement would be appreciated:
Breakfast: 2oz of Dubliner Cheese 1oz Hard Salami 1oz Prosciutto 2 eggs
Lunch: 4 slices bacon 4 slices cheddar cheese 2oz Deli Ham 2oz Dubliner Cheese
Dinner: 1 cup cooked bok choy with 3 oz cream cheese 1 (8oz) country style pork rib roasted in Soy Sauce Marinade
I consumed 2,405 calories of which 1,594 came from fat (66%) and had just 6.5 grams of carbohydrates. (For reference my TDEE is 3,963) Am I on the right track?
Some one my personal observations:
The first day was rather tough and I was pretty sluggish starting out day 2. I have noticed some joint pain, minor headache and slight dizziness. At the end of day two I had a lot of energy and could not go to sleep and have been significantly less hungry. I'm assuming I have entered ketosis but I'm not positive.
Just looking at it it seems I could improve by eating more green veggies (none on day 1, small amount day 2, some day 3), cutting back a little on the cheese? and drinking more water (between .5-.75 gallon a day currently.
Any suggestions or analysis? Am I on the right track? I guess I just want to hear it from actual users.
TL;DR New to Keto. Could use some suggestions. Am I doing it right?
