Do you ever end up with heavy cream that goes sour before it’s expiration date? I tend to buy pure heavy cream (without preservatives and additives) from local dairy producers sold in my local grocery stores. I mainly use it in my coffee. However I’ve been finding that it will go sour and sometimes lumpy before the expiration date. Is there any way to prevent this other than just using it up faster? Should I opt for the more processed brands to extend shelf life? Also does anyone have a trick for storing it so that it doesn’t get all thick and sticky at the pour opening? TIA!
