Been on keto for two weeks and have not lost a single pound. Please help!!
Post Body

Hi everyone! I’ve been a long time lurker and have seen so many wonderful people transform their lives by being on the keto diet. My wife and I decided to start keto and have researched it about as thoroughly as could be. We are limiting our carbs to 20g a day and trying to keep under our amount of calorie intake as well. We have keto cookbooks and meal plans as guidelines to help with what we should be eating. We both work out at OrangeTheory fitness three or four times a week (which is HIIT workouts). So after doing this for two weeks, neither one of us have budged a pound. Just sitting exactly at the same weight we started at. I feel like we’re doing something wrong after seeing so many post about people just shedding weight. I know we’re in ketosis from the pee strips we use. I feel like I’m ready to give up. Does anyone have any ideas? Please help!

Changed it and here’s what it says.

1749 kcal Daily Calorie Intake 20 g Carbs (6%, 100 kcal) 150 g Protein (34%, 600 kcal) 117 g Fat (60%, 1049 kcal)

That’s totally understandable and I agree with you for sure. I am a server so I’m on my feet for more then eight hours a day and wear a Fitbit while at work. I’ve tracked myself for the last month and I avg around 12,000 steps to 14,000 steps a day or 5 miles of walking so I just never thought of myself as sedative. I do appreciate all your insight and help.

For sure, I totally understand that and take my results with a grain of salt, but even before not working out I’m staying under 2000 calories. But I’ll recalculate and try and stay under 1600 instead and give myself a buffer.

Well I use a heart monitor and average a heart rate of 164 and hour. Each work out is either for an hour or 90 mins. I usually row 4000 meters, run three miles and do a mix or weight lifting and core work outs.

Can I ask what makes you say it’s so laughable? Are you a physical trainer? Just curious because if they have been lying to me and it’s all rigged maybe I should quit.

Very true. We were very surprised how many carbs we were eating when we started looking at all the foods. We do track how many carbs we eat and make sure we never go over. It’s hard for me to even imagine eating over 2100 calories a day on top of exercising and burning a 1000 calories on top. But maybe your right, tracking is the next step. Yesterday I ate 4 strips of bacon, 4oz of full fat cream cheese, half a cucumber, six strips of pork belly dipped in mayo, one chicken thigh, and some MTC oil in my coffee. I also worked out and burned 1,400 calories.

Sorry, I should have phrased that differently. We do stay under, sometimes well under. Not because we are starving ourselves but because we aren’t that hungry. We get full from bacon and MCT oil in our coffee that helps curb our hunger all day till dinner. We don’t weigh our portions or don’t track. Maybe that’s the next step.

These are the results that from my keto calculator.

2217 kcal Daily Calorie Intake 20 g Carbs (5%, 100 kcal) 150 g Protein (27%, 600 kcal) 169 g Fat (68%, 1517 kcal)
