I started keto 3 days ago, and it's been going pretty well so far (save for the full blown keto flu, which will pass). While looking up some new material (as I am still studying the subject), I came across a video by Jason Wittrock contending that calories in-calories out (CICO) does not necessarily apply to those on keto i.e. one can be on a surplus and still lose weight/fat.
He presents a convincing argument - obesity is a result of hormone imbalance (insulin resistance) rather than a caloric imbalance. There are a couple of supporting comments pointing out that the applicable law of thermodynamics does not perfectly apply to the human body as well, which do make sense.
Just curious what the sub's take on this is? I have a few pork rinds with vinegar to curb my urges from time to time, and it would be nice to not worry/feel guilty about it.
Here's a link to the video for anybody who's interested: https://youtu.be/ejtPf5wc3Sk
