Old(er) guy with his clothes on
All the pictures I see here are from you young'uns looking like models after your weight loss. Thought it was time for me to thank each and every one of you for your inspiration and encouragement this far, and to let the few grey-hairs on Reddit know that all of us can get healthy.
I began at 345 lbs, blood pressure in the "kill me now" range (195/120), and wheezing. That was only four months ago. I have many more months yet to go, but i'm down 70 pounds as of this morning, my blood pressure has normalized to 105/70, I don't ache any more, the edema in my ankles is gone. I've dropped from a 46 pant to a 40, and those are rapidly getting loose on me. I'm riding this train down to a loose 36" waist and 195 lbs or less.
It's all LCHF and IF. I eat in a 1-hour window, more or less, each day. I drink a ton of water. Dropped all artificially sweetened drinks. Eat as much bacon and grass-fed beef as I can. Lots of nuts, cheese, beef and hot dogs.
Every day I check this sub (and r/keto and r/intermittentfasting ) for inspiration. It took me 55 years to get the balls up to do this, and I'm never ever going back to feeling like crap every day, again. Each time one of you posts a progress picture, it helps the lurkers realize that there is a hope, there is a future. This sub, along with Drs. Fung and Naiman) literally kept me from dying. My wife tells me that she was convinced I was going to be gone within months.
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, to each of you. you saved my life.
Edit: And a special thanks to COFFEE!
