Dipping my toe
Post Body

I've sort of unofficially been intermittent fasting most days of the week. I usually have my first food around 6-8pm. I don't go to bed until usually 1-2 am so I guess that's a 6-8 hour eating window.

I'm trying to lose weight (f 5'5" about 185 and want to get into the 150s...though 135 would be my ideal). I'm ok if it takes awhile...I'd rather whatever I do be sustainable.

One thing I've noticed is that I snack at night...a lot. So I've been trying to cut that out. I haven't been perfect but I'm trying. Some days I just don't eat after dinner. So maybe I'll have a snack at like 7 and dinner at like 9...and then I just don't eat after that. Other days I'll eat dinner at maybe like 8 and allow myself to snack some bit try to keep it in moderation and fairly healthy.

I've also been tracking my calories some. I don't do it religiously but it's helped guide me to know if I can "afford" that snack. Sometimes the one meal a day is very calorie heavy. I don't do that all the time but sometimes I'll get nachos or fast food and those meals can easily be 1000-1300 calories (my recommended calorie max is about 1500).

I guess what I'm asking is if this sounds like something that could work? Is it ok to eat all my calories in such a small window? Or is it better when doing if to keep the calories even lower than my recommendation? Like should I be maxing out at like 1000 if I'm doing it in a small window?
